I have studied very hard for the last 2 month after having gotten married, moved house twice, being attacked on the street and sustaining a stabbing wound last year. I stepped up my studies beginning of this year and have passed my first exam A+ Essentials with 750/900 marks! I am now going to take the Second exam. I have only reached half way in my A+ study books and was really determined to pass even before completing the second set of books! It took lots of hard work and late nights! Consistantly high marks- so far out of the seven TMA's I have attempted, the lowest mark I have recieved is 89%. I am pleased to say that so far I have achieved 90% or greater on my TMA's which I am extremely pleased about. But more then that I am extremely proud of myself for completing the two units on networks. I had very limited understanding of networks, but with the clear and precise text I can say without a doubt that I know more about networks now then I have ever done previously. It May seem like small potatoes but to me, the network parts of the course I knew would be hard, they were infact quite easy to understand due to the fact that it was written clearly and in a way in which I could understand. Makes me want to get the A+ done and move onto the N+ as quick as possible. I have never been one for studing and could never apply myself to it, for e.g I started this course in three years ago with the ambition to finsh it quickly but I never actually started until November 2007. Since then I have seen what the course work has to offer and I have been blown away by how easy it is to get my head down and actually study. The course work is fantastic and easy to get to grips with, I May only have just completed part a in the Comptia A+ section but I have learned and achieved alot and look forward to what this course holds for me not only in work prospects but what it has done for me as a person and that is all thanks to skillstrain who have made it possible. The most significant accomplishment for me was my new job. After a long wait, I have moved into the IT industry. I am now working as a Technical Sales Advisor. Prior to this I was working as a part-time cleaner! The most significant accomplishment for me was my new job. After a long wait, I have moved into the IT industry. I am now working as a Technical Sales Advisor. Prior to this I was working as a part-time cleaner! After months of trying to juggle the studying, homelife, kids and work (nights) I can finally see that it will all be worth it in the end. Just sent in TMA 10 and waiting for the results, still averaging 95% and I actually know that the work that I have done is paying off. I recently upgraded the memory and the graphics on my home pc and it now works like a dream. Actually being phoned up to come and try and sort out peoples PCs (for a fee !!) and I have also got a placement with a local IT solutions firm in order to broaden my horizons in the IT world. Still got a long way to go but I am no longer out of my depth and will be be looking forward to my career change, probably after Christmas. I am very pleased with my decision to change my career into IT after having been in Human Resources field for 10 years. After just two months of commencing my COMPTIA A+ with SkillsTrain, I was able to move across to a job as a Junior HelpDesk Analyst. The Live Internet Training was awesome. Well done guys. A few obvious points in the course that needed to be covered but still a few things in there I never knew. Very well presented Having recovered from a serious car crash 2005/06, I was unable to retain short term information, suffering from blackouts, given the all clear to return to work in April 2007 I am now studying for my MCSA course and feeling confident in being able to study and retain the information learnt. I never find it easy to blow my own trumpet but I feel that I am holding my own really well. My wife suffers from depression, anxiety and severe agrophobia, this has a big impact on both my job and the time available for study. My average for 24 assignments on the A+ is 93%. I am a 40 year old teaching assistant looking for a major change in career direction. With each assignment despite the stresses of my home, the feedback always motivates me to achieve the best I can. Last week I managed to get myself in touch with an association named LG technology inovations. Before that, I had an interview with Microsoft computing, and was called back for a second interview. I am currently working at LG as a part-time employee and have started a job with them as an administrator working on there systems. Microsoft had no issues with me working for them except I complete the training course and then can apply for an MCSA administrator within there company. I since was fishing for employment to get a "start up foot" in, so I could progress and be able to get used to the environment. Luckily, as mentioned, I did get in to LG and now hope to progress within there company so I can get hands on experience. I can see my career pushing forward, and can see were I hope to be in 10yrs time, and its a great thought! Once again, I would like to thank everyone at skills train and advice everyone who is out there on skillstrain programme, to keep it up, its all worth the effort! I am a qualified nurse who works in a nursing care home. I deal with residents with dementia and frail elderly. I have been here for 18 months from Botswana Africa, a country hardest hit with HIV/AIDS. But through hard work and dedication in a new environment I manage to succed through the odds. I have been promoted to a post of a sister from 13/08/07 at a local care home where I'm currently working.
